What does balanced start do?
It shifts the tiles so the cuts on opposite walls are as big and even as they can be, instead of starting with a full tile in one corner. The app also warns you when a cut is very thin.
How does offcut reuse work?
When two cut pieces fit in one tile, allowing 3 mm for each cut, the app plans them from the same tile and shows a cutting plan. That lowers the number of tiles and boxes to buy.
How are grout and adhesive worked out?
Grout uses the usual joint formula from the tile size, joint width and tile thickness. Adhesive uses a typical figure for your trowel notch size. Both add 10%. Brands vary, so check the coverage on your bags.
Which rooms does it work for?
Single rectangular rooms, with straight, half bond or third bond layouts. For an L shaped room, work out each rectangle separately.
