Food Safety Diary & Temp Log privacy policy

Food Safety Diary & Temp Log ("the App") is a food safety diary for kitchen premises. It records opening and closing checks, temperature readings, notes and 4-weekly reviews, and can create a PDF and backup files. This policy explains what stays on your device and what does not leave it.

1. Data storage

Premises names, checklists, sign offs, initials, temperature readings, notes, reviews and reminder times are stored on your device in a database inside the App. There is no account. We do not run a backend for this App, and we do not sync this data to servers we operate. If Android backup is switched on in your phone settings, Android may include the App's data in your own Google account backup.

2. PDFs, backups and spreadsheets

When you create an inspection PDF, a backup file or a spreadsheet, the file is made on your device. Where it goes next (for example email, Google Drive or messaging) is your choice, through your phone's share sheet. When you restore a backup, the App reads only the file you pick. We do not receive a copy of any of these files.

3. Reminders

If you switch on reminders, the App asks Android for permission to show notifications and schedules them on your device. No reminder data is sent anywhere.

4. Purchases

The daily diary is free. Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play (product sfbb_kitchen_diary_lifetime) and is free to try for 7 days from first open. Google Play Billing processes the payment. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Purchase records are handled by Google.

5. Diagnostics

The App does not send data to a third-party analytics service. It does not include Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or any similar analytics SDK.

6. Data we do not collect or sell

We do not collect your name, email, or phone number for an account.
We do not sell personal data.
We do not share premises or diary data with third parties.

7. Compliance notes in the App

The App helps you keep your own records. Temperature limits shown are common UK guide values. It is not legal advice, it is not made or endorsed by the Food Standards Agency, Food Standards Scotland or any local authority, and it does not replace their guidance.

8. Age

Food Safety Diary & Temp Log is intended for people aged 18 and over who run or work in food businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

9. United Kingdom and EEA

We do not sell personal data. Because diary data stays on your device, requests to access or delete that information are handled in the App: export a backup to see everything, delete a premises and its diary in Premises settings, or uninstall the App.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
