Privacy policy
Paint Colour Match ("the App") uses your phone camera, or a photo you choose, to find the closest real UK paint colours. Matching is free with no limit. A one-time Pro purchase adds rooms, photo matching, comparisons, colour suggestions and a paint calculator. This policy explains what stays on your phone and what does not leave it.
1. Camera and photos
The App reads the live camera picture on your phone to measure colours. If you use Match from a photo or add a wall photo to a room (Pro), you pick the photo with the Android photo picker, and the App reads only that photo. Camera pictures and photos are processed on your phone and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
2. What is stored on your phone
The App stores on your phone: whether Pro is unlocked, your speech and brand settings, the colours you save (paint name, measured colour, your note, date) and any rooms you make (name, notes, which way the room faces, paint calculator figures and a copy of the wall photo you chose). There is no account. We do not run a server for this App and nothing is synced to us.
3. Purchases
Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. When the App starts it asks Google Play whether you already own Pro, so a new phone or a reinstall unlocks it again. We never see your payment details.
4. Speech
If you turn speech on, paint names are read out by your phone's own text to speech engine.
5. Sharing
When you tap Share, the App hands a picture or text to the app you choose, such as email or messages. Nothing is shared unless you do this.
6. Analytics and advertising
The App contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code and does not use your advertising ID.
7. Data we do not collect or sell
We do not collect your name, email address, location or contacts, and we do not sell or share personal data.
8. Paint colours and brands
The paint colours are the screen colours published by Dulux, Crown and Farrow & Ball on their own websites. Matches are a guide only; check a tester pot before buying. The App is independent and is not made or endorsed by any paint brand or shop. Brand and colour names belong to their owners.
9. Children
The App is meant for adults planning home decorating. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Your rights
Because everything stays on your phone, you can delete it at any time by deleting saved colours and rooms in the App, clearing the App's data in Android settings, or uninstalling the App.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes will appear on this page with a new effective date.
