What it does
- The trail builds live on screen, from up to 30 camera frames a second
- Exposure, focus and colour are fixed while you paint, so lights draw smooth streaks on a dark background
- Self timer, and start or stop with a volume button or a Bluetooth camera remote
- Front or back camera, and Flip left to right so written words read the right way round
- Natural and Warm looks free; Sparkler gold, Neon city, Comet and Mono noir with Pro, and you can change the look after you capture
- Saves upright to your gallery in Full HD, or up to 4K with Pro, and shares straight to other apps
- Pro: time-lapse video, car and star trails up to 30 minutes, rainbow trails, keep the scene, symmetry, pause and a live view under the trail
- Works offline with no account. Nothing is uploaded.

Questions
Is Light Painting free?
Yes. Light painting up to 20 seconds in Full HD with the Natural and Warm looks is free, with a small Light Painting mark in the corner of saved pictures. A one-time Pro purchase removes the mark and adds 4K, time-lapse video, car and star trails and more.
Will my trails be smooth?
On most phones, yes. The app reads the camera up to 30 times a second and, where the phone allows it, exposes each frame for the whole frame time, so a moving light draws a streak rather than a dot. Very fast movement on an older phone can still leave small gaps.
Does it brighten a dark scene?
Not by itself. It keeps the brightest light it sees, so it suits bright lights on a dark background. With Pro, Keep scene adds a picture of the view behind your trails.
Can it do star trails?
With Pro, yes, on a clear night away from street lights, over 5 minutes or more. Phone cameras pick up the brighter stars, so expect fewer stars than a big camera shows.
Do I need a tripod?
The phone needs to stay still. A tripod, a phone clamp or a pile of books all work.
