White Balance
Privacy policy
Effective date: 23 October 2026
White Balance ("the App") measures the colour temperature of light from a grey or white card, using your phone's camera. Everything happens on your phone. There is no account, no cloud upload and no sync.
1. Camera
The App uses the camera only while it is open, to read the colour of the card in the centre of the picture. Where your phone allows it, the App also reads RAW sensor data and the phone's own colour calibration for this. Camera frames are processed on your phone and are not saved or uploaded. The camera is released when you leave the App. If you do not allow the camera, the App shows a labelled demo card instead. The App does not use the microphone.
2. Data stored on your phone
The App stores its settings (units, sample square size, keep screen on, gel target), your calibration, readings you choose to save with their names, the two lights in Compare, and whether you own White Balance Pro. These stay in the App's own storage on your phone and are removed if you uninstall it. Reading cards are saved to your gallery only when you tap Save to gallery.
3. Purchases
White Balance Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Google Play Billing handles payment; we never see or store your card details. There is no subscription.
4. Analytics
The App contains no analytics or tracking code and does not use an advertising ID.
5. Children
The App is a photography tool and is not aimed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
