App: Kaleidoscope Cam for Android, by Zarkon (zarkon.co.uk)

Kaleidoscope Cam turns your camera into a live kaleidoscope. Everything happens on your phone. The app has no accounts, collects no personal data, and does not send your pictures anywhere.

What the app uses

• Camera. The camera picture is turned into a kaleidoscope on your phone. When you tap Photo or Video, the app saves the kaleidoscope picture or clip. Video is recorded without sound, and the raw camera recording is deleted once the kaleidoscope video is made. Nothing is uploaded.
• Your photos and videos. Saved in the app’s own storage so you can see them in Exports, and added to your phone’s gallery. You can delete them from Exports at any time. Removing the app removes its own copies; copies in your gallery stay until you delete them.
• Settings. Your chosen style, segments, spin limit, Reduce motion, Keep screen on, whether you have seen the flashing light warning, and whether Pro is unlocked. These are stored on your phone only.
• Purchases. The optional one-time Pro unlock is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card details. The app asks Google Play whether Pro is owned so it can unlock it on your phone.

What the app does not do

• No accounts or sign in.
• No analytics or tracking.
• No cloud storage, and no sharing of data with third parties.

Permissions

• Camera: for the live kaleidoscope, photos and videos. If you say no, the app shows a sample pattern instead.
• Save to gallery: to add your photos and videos to your phone’s gallery (older Android versions ask for storage access for this).
• Internet: only for Google Play purchases and Restore.

Sharing

If you tap Share, your phone’s share sheet sends the file to the app you choose. That app’s own privacy policy then applies.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
