Colour Identifier

Privacy policy

Effective date: 23 October 2026

Colour Identifier ("the App") is a camera helper that names colours and can say them out loud. This policy explains what the App does with your data. In short: it stays on your phone.

1. Camera and photos

The App uses the camera to show a live picture and to read the colour of the spot you choose. If you open a photo from your gallery (a Pro feature), the App reads that photo the same way. Pictures and photos are processed on your device. They are not uploaded to us or anyone else, and the App does not save camera pictures.

2. What is stored on your phone

Your settings, the Pro unlock flag, and any colours you save to history or palettes are stored in the App's local storage on your phone. There is no account and we do not run a server for this App, so none of this is sent to us. Clearing the App's data or uninstalling it removes it.

3. Sharing

If you choose to share a palette, the App hands its text (colour codes and names) to the app you pick, using Android's share sheet. Nothing is shared unless you do this.

4. Purchases

A one-time purchase unlocks Pro. Google Play handles the payment and keeps the purchase record, so Pro comes back if you reinstall the App or use another phone with the same Google account (use Restore purchase). We do not receive your payment details.

5. Speech and vibration

Colour names are spoken by your phone's own text to speech engine. Vibration patterns use your phone's vibration motor. Neither sends data anywhere through the App.

6. Analytics and advertising

The App contains no analytics, tracking or advertising software and does not use an advertising ID.

7. Accuracy and colour vision

Colour names depend on the light and the camera and are an everyday guide, not a measurement. The colour blind views, colour boost and colour finder do not test, diagnose or treat colour vision. Colour Identifier is not a medical device.

8. Children

The App does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

9. Your rights

Because the App's data stays on your device, you control it directly: clear the App's data in Android settings, or uninstall the App. You can contact us with any question.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date.
